Is Anthony Santander Our Best Hitter Right Now?

Sounds crazy, but he might actually be. It's between Tony, Hays and Adley right now for title of best hitter on the team. Cedric and Gunnar not too far behind. I think Gunnar and Adley are the biggest talents on the team right now as far pure hitting goes. They don't have the experience that Hays and Tony have though and it shows. They say it takes 1500 big league ABs for a player to reach his peak. And that's about where Tony and Hays were right at the start of this season. Not a coincidence that they are having career years. Seems like Tony and Hays have turned it up to another notch through sheer repetition and ABs.

We have an extremely balanced lineup. O'Hearn actually has a higher OPS than Santander although he has the advantage of platooning. Hays is only a few points behind Santander, and then Adley, Gunnar, and Mullins are all pretty close, within striking distance of a big heater or Santander slump.

We don't have a Best hitter. We have guys that show up for an inning or a few games but nobody consistently.

This.  They all take turns jockeying for best hitter.  Meanwhile the team has very few holes in the lineup, especially now that Mateo is getting fewer at bats.

Because he is 2nd on the team in OPS.  In all honesty our offense is pretty deep but no hitter is really great or even very good.  We probably have one of the most balanced lineups 1-9 but no one is great and we don’t really have any huge black holes in the lineup most nights.  O’Hearn is the only guy Ops’ing over .800 yet we have a line up of 8 guys with OPS over .765.

His OPS in May is no longer relevant to the game in front of them. He has a sub .600 OPS his last 100+ plate appearances

Still better than Mateo and his scorching .417 OPS since May 1st, yet those that complain about him you claim are crying.    But back on Santander, no he isn't our best hitter, but he's solid.  That said he doesn't have a long term future on the team, and I imagine he'll be actively shopped this offseason.

Santander is in the 3rd or 4th spot every night and has 200 more PA’s than Mateo.
