The Orioles are a Baltimore institution,” team executive vice president John Angelos told the Sun in 2019, adding that the club would stay “as long as Fort McHenry is standing watch over the Inner Harbor.

“The Orioles will be in Baltimore, be in Maryland,” Angelos continued. “That’s the beginning and the end as far as I’m concerned.”

So he has been using that line since 2019. Well technically they have been working on a long term lease since 2018. But as someone said on here these things take time.

Yea, but if you get lucky you get a check from a place like Enron or FTX and after they go bankrupt you can just sell the rights again.

Just make sure you get paid in advance.

Good point. Wasn't the Miami Heat's arena named after FTX?

And they haven’t moved. This news seems to further the certainty they remain. Seems odd to criticize him for saying this.
