Dean Kremer 2024

Ok I’m listening, what is your point

It was sarcasm. Urias is not an elite defensive infielder.

Everyone saying that we can't bring Mayo up to play 3rd because Urias' defense is superior isn't watching Mayo play third and is pretending Urias is still living in 2022. We saw it Tuesday. Urias cost us at least 1, almost certainly 2, and possibly 3 outs. That double play that he tried when he picked up the ball tagged 3rd and threw/rolled the ball to first would have been a really interesting play for Mayo. I don't think he gets the runner at 1st, but it would have been close with his cannon of an arm.

Lets see if he can step up big and send us into the break with a W!

Yep. Dean's gotta step up. Going into the break up by one combined with the rest the players obviously need might right the ship!

Ben McDonald said he considered today one of Dean Kremer’s most impressive outings for the way he was able to maintain his composure despite all the defensive miscues, and I’d have to agree.  It was a feat to get through 6 innings only allowing 4 runs with the way the defense played behind him today.  Better luck next time, Dean.

We really need Dean to give us some innings and be consistent to finish this season. Here’s to hoping. I think he’s got it in him.

Dean is bulldog; maximizes what he’s got.

Orioles are 6-10 this season when Kremer starts. Tonight he gave up 5 ER on 4 hits, 5 walks, a wild pitch, and to top it off he balked in a run. All in 4.1 innings facing a last place team. A year ago he was our #3 starter, and with all the injuries he still slots in that spot even with his 4.70 ERA.

God help us.

Just not good enough.  I'm assuming he is arbitration eligible this off season.  He should be non-tendered.  We need to move on and sign someone better.

I think they need to (and will) keep Kremer, there have been too many hits to the SP depth already.

But, I'd like to go into the season with him as the #5. Or even better, in competition for a spot.

I'm not saying we should non-tender Dean. I agree we need him for depth. But your plan is kind of what the Orioles did this season. In fact, we were all pretty damn happy with our depth in April. We came into the year with:

Burnes, Grayson, Wells, Irvin, Kremer, Bradish (IL, but ready soon), Means (IL, but ready soon), Suarez

We had a 5, with Bradish and Means coming back to make it 7/8. That didnt include Povich/McDermott who I think we all thought would pitch for the Orioles at some point in some capacity. Even with the uncertainty of Bradish and Means, Kremer was probably considered our "5", although the last three were probably somewhat interchangeable. When Bradish and Means came back, Kremer was certainly the 5. Injuries have ravished this team, and while we have been able to stay afloat to this point, its looking less and less likely that we will make any noise this season.

I keep seeing these posts about Bradish coming back soon. He’s not pitching until 2026
