Our aging, mid-level “prospects” who can’t even win playing time on our roster are not going to return enough to fill our glaring holes in the rotation and pen, this year and beyond.

You can’t go years ignoring pitchers in the draft with the philosophy of being able to trade for pitching that you have had the opportunity to better scout, and then not be able to make those trades.

He’s a rental, and Joey Ortiz is probably a better prospect than anybody in our organization after those 3 guys.

I would maybe look to Cincinnati or Pittsburgh

They could get Fedde, another 3/4, and 2/3 good relievers without giving up any of the top 3 prospects. Not that they will get all of that (they likely just need one starter and 2 relievers) but they can fill their needs without trading their best guys.

I actually think the opposite. We don’t have any time for a knee jerk trade. Bring up Mayo and Norby to give some of the fielders a break. Send Maton down and IL Mateo.

This is stinking thinking. The starting point is, "how can we give up elite assets we've scouted/developed and have under control for the better part of a decade?" I am grateful the people in charge of the franchise assuredly don't share this inanity.
