Wow. Okay.

The Red Sox are no pushover on offense first of all. They scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning due to complete luck. The last inning would have ended albeit for the Huff error. Yeah- he didn't shut the door and bail his teammate out- but had Huff made the play would you still say the same thing?

Fenway more so than a lot of parks is riddled with hometeam momentum and when they are getting breaks and errors in their favor- even the best can struggle to overcome. He got 3 outs last inning and it wasn't enough. This is a team failure just as much as Guthrie's.

This is definitely true. Defense has been atrocious tonight.

Tony, have you not taken RShackelford's game thread entrance exam?

Might wanna look into it.

;)

Saying Guthrie turned in a terrible performance isn't the same thing as saying he's not a good pitcher. That said, he hasn't been a good pitcher tonight. Plenty of good pitchers turn in bad performances. Look at C.C. Sabathia's opener against us.

C'mon now, Guthrie's back in his rhythm don't you know?;)

Why would you take a cheap shot at Guthrie right now? Because Tony said he played awful? Way to jump on the bandwagon. Wow- jump on a guy who battled thru a tough night and was a simple groundball away from getting thru 5 with a 3 run lead. Tough guy.
