    • The fact that Akin failed doesn’t change the valid observation that Kimbrel failed. I don’t understand why they gave him 13 million, but they did, and I do understand why they aren’t going to dump him. But I doubt he should be closer(full disclosure, I hate a dedicated closer anyway) and he should have a very short leash. And we should start pestering Oakland about Miller. BTW, his pitches seem to miss outside, to the same approximate area. Could that mean something?
    • I also live in Bethesda about 16 miles from the stadium. It’s faster to go to Camden Yards a lot of nights than it is to go Nat’s stadium.  Especially coming home, can get back in about 45 minutes.  Cutting across DC is a nightmare even w/o rush hour traffic. Their stadium is awful and it’s incredibly expensive.  Add in the finance bros in sweater vests on lap tops during the game and it’s just a weird scene.  Every time I’ve gone I’ve wished I hadn’t.
    • I hope the O's report card is more representative of MLB norms than the ABS.
    • It’s not a mysterious reason why the A’s beat us 2 out of 3….. Craig Kimbrel blew both games (which we have seen, he is kind of prone to doing that.) I agree though in your assessment of the A’s overall. They are a bad team being buffeted by a very good bullpen that allows them to do better than they otherwise would. I hope that Kjerstad could land Miller. But as you said, they are a few years away. Kjerstad is now already 25. I’m not sure that he is the kind of player that they will be looking for to target that matches their team trajectory.
    • I predict Rubenstein will slowly and calmly reorganizes MASN.  Hopefully this offseason he decides to make a few changes.
