I agree. The runner establishes the baseline, and Ichiro went way outside of it when Wieters had the ball ahead of time.

Here's the rule exactly: (From section 7, the runner, the baserunner is out when) (1) He runs more than three feet away from his baseline to avoid being tagged unless his action is to avoid interference with a fielder fielding a batted ball. A runner?s baseline is established when the tag attempt occurs and is a straight line from the runner to the base he is attempting to reach safely.

Edit: And not around the back of the base and halfway to the home team dugout, and then back to the plate again.

Apparently, that far. It's why I'm not upset at Matt missing the tag, if you allow the runner to go that far out of the baseline to avoid a tag, EVERYONE can dodge a tag.
