Too many off speed pitches to bad hitters and he's trying to paint the outside corner because that's where Wieters is setting up. He needs to be setting up inside and busting guys on the hands with the 97 mph FB.

Couldn't agree more. With his stuff, pitch to contact. He should never walk anyone with a fastball with that much life.

I remember in 2009 when we broke the 1890 Pittsburgh Alleghenys' all-time major league record of wins by starting pitchers making their major league debuts.

Brad Bergesen, Jason Berken, David Hernandez, Brian Matusz, and Koji Uehara all won their career major league debuts, while Chris Tillman's first decision was a win in his 4th outing (he had had 3 no-decisions, previously. The Orioles won the first game that he ever started, also.)

And now, Thorne just brought up those same 1890 Pittsburgh Alleghenys.

The OFFNY-Thorne connection is getting eerier.
