''We just asked them to hold Adam out for a couple of games,'' Seattle general manager Bill Bavasi said without explaining the reason for the move. ''But it was just for a short period of time. He's going to be back in the lineup soon.

Hopefully this doesn't mean the Mariners and Orioles are done talking...

This doesn't sound good but thanks for the update.

Why would the Orioles want his Venezuelan League play to end even if they traded for him? I doubt if this means much of anything.

He was pulled and told to "hang tight" then sent back. You're right the Orioles probably wouldn't want him to stop his play, but it looked like something might have been done.

Maybe the Orioles said "let him finish his playoffs, we can work this out later."

The Mariners pulled him from Winter Ball for no apparent reason. That just screams that they didn't want him to get hurt before a trade. Now that he's playing again, well that's not a good sign...

The speculation was that the Mariner's pulled him in possible preparation for a trade - just to make sure nothing happens or whatever. If that was true, then inserting him back in the lineup means they no longer see him getting traded. Bad news for us if that's the case, but then, we never really knew why he was pulled from the lineup to begin with.

I'm with JTrea though. I'm gonna be really pissed of MacPhail screwed this up.

If either Roberts or Bedard are on the opening day roster, it will really suck, I think Mcphail is as bad as half of the members here who want the world for these guys, when as I have stated before, we should accept the best offer on the table, and if Jones is on the table, we take it with any 3 prospects they want to toss in.

Truth is, if they are on the opening day roster, we won't even get jones for both of them at the deadline or next year. We would seriously be missing out on someone special....

    • Both Adams and Stephen's were hand fighting.  No reason to throw the PI there.  Much less throw it after the players were half way back to tge huddle. Steratore said as much.
    • Yeah I rewatched that and you're completely off base here IMO, the ball was perfectly thrown, away from Jakorian Bennett, and Bateman let's it brick off his fingers.  He's got to make that catch.  It wasn't even a bad decision to throw it, it was a tight window but Spillane was leaning the wrong way because of Andrew's over the middle.
    • Obviously teams that win are always more fun than teams that don't, and as the OP pointed out, this team has been below .500 over half a season at this point.  The lack of hitting is pretty infuriating at this point. This is not a slump. This team has to be the least clutch team I've watched. When they get RISP with less than two outs you expect them not to score. If they get behind and it's late, you assume a loss.  They do nothing that is enjoyable to watch other than pop a few homers.  I honestly have a hard time watching them at this point. We all hope they will get healthy and get better, but it's sure is one of the more eclectic teams that I've seen over the years.
    • How could you look at this game as anything other than a gimme win.  It's conceivable the Ravens could be 1-4 after Cinci.  I think somehow the Ravens will pull out Dallas or Cincy game.  Maybe Lamar runs for 200 yards.  That seems to be go to plan for must win games for our "quarterback".
    • I think we’re at the point now where we have to question the talent. Maybe some of these guys are a tad over hyped.
    • On twitter I was totally smoked and laughed at for predicting a 8-9 season and last place . Hell I'm having a hard time finding 8 wins at this point.  Conceivably we could easily see them dropping the next 3 games Dal, Buf,  and Cin. I wish they would had promoted  McDonald to HC even though I knew it wouldn't happen. I also did not like the job DeCosta did this year.
    • I don’t totally disagree. But the offense has to be more that Gunnar and Adley.  We know Tony is prone to nasty cold streaks. Looks like he’s in one.  Cedric is still good, but he’s not the 30-30 guy he was.  He’s also prone to big slumps.  O’Hearn has had his moments here but might be turning into a pumpkin.  He’s most likely a platoon guy, pinch hitter and is exposed playing every day. Holliday isn’t ready.  Mayo isn’t ready. Cowser is a whiff machine. Jimenez is a joke.  So…yeah, we’ve got some talent still playing, but it’s either very flawed talent or guys that haven’t reached their potential yet. It’s guys that we know and we like but still have some significant shortcomings.  Not having key guys in the lineup exposed these shortcomings even more.
