The Fun Police and the Yankees.

Sounds like a perfect match.

Wonder if this will lead to more scrums?

A framing joke.

Fangraphs has him at 5.1 FRAA.

So, a couple things. First, is Fangraphs the best arbiter for FRAA? For instance BP in the same category has him at 0.7, that's quite a discrepancy.

I can't find the category for Bbref.

My OP was asking if SMM thought he had a down year last year. I'm not sure he'll bounce back with all the innings he plays, but I think we should continue to use him in the same capacity since it seems he won't be signing an extension.

Long term deal? <a href="http://s1106.photobucket.com/user/isestrex/media/Emoticons/huh.gif.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h367/isestrex/Emoticons/huh.gif" border="0" alt=" photo huh.gif"/></a>

Yet another example of a Yankee signing that will look great for 2-3 years and then look swamp monster ugly in 4-5 years. Typical good ol Yankee know how...

I don't pretend to know enough about how they judge Catcher defense to answer that question.

I wasn't trying to correct you I was just showing that the metrics were inconsistent in their findings.

I think he clearly wasn't as good as in 2011-2012 but I don't think you call him below average without giving weight to some questionable stuff like CERA and Pitch Framing analysis.
