Seems like a reasonable deal for the team. If we wouldn't match or beat that, I'd be disappointed. But it's also possible Arroyo preferred the NL and and/or being in Arizona.

I don't care about the .500 mark anymore. I care about playoffs. Having said that, I don't see how this team should have too much trouble going .500...we've got a great team, just needs some holes filled and everything so far has been a swing or miss.

If the money reported by Birdland is right, I'm getting the sense that a) we weren't that seriously going after Arroyo, or 2) B'almer is starting to become a team that FAs don't really want to sign with... There are certainly a lot of factors that we won't know. But that money wasn't out of our reach or out of our minds. Par for the course at best, infuriating at worst. 200 innings down the drain...
