Today-What a Lineup!

I guess it really doesn't matter if he goes on the DL or not, Pearce hasn't gotten any closer to the bat rack with him being out anyway.

Very true. And Tillman's eight and a third and the day off meant the bullpen is fully rested.

Good move to have clevanger fill in against the righty last night. I know some posters seemed skeptical of buck, that he would not be strategic in matts off days (to use clevanger against righties).

Is Pearce injured? Why DH him over Young. He's a much better fielder.

I was thinking the same thing. Has to be the case, no one in their right mind would play Delmon in the field over Pierce.

Which begs the question... Were we playing with a 23 man roster for the last week?

Maybe they want to see Delmon out there to determine if they could live without Pearce.

They should have enough information on hand to make that decision.

Maybe, but considering what crappy shape Delmon's been in the last few years, maybe they want another look. Don't want to get rid of a guy and then find out you need him.

Any reason Cruz isn't in the lineup?

EDIT - To clarify, I understand why Buck would try to get Pearce and Young in the lineup. What I'm wondering is if there is any particular reason Cruz wouldn't be in the lineup? Checking the numbers, it looks like Cruz has been pretty dreadful vs. Buehrle in 15 PA with literally the only stats posted being 1 BB and 2 K.
