Are we too plodding?

Team speed and team athleticism always confuses me in baseball. Yes, it's way cooler to not be fat, but baseball doesn't care. Baseball is not an athletic thing.

If you want to watch athletes go watch basketball or boxing.

I think you've mistaken the definition for "athletic" for the definition of "Olympic sprinter athletic." Your definition of athletic excludes the highest levels of football players, weightlifters, shot-putters, bobsledders, wrestlers, etc, etc.

God forbid something happens to these guys, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't lose weight in their 40s they literally die. Like Reggie White.

The average NFL player has a life expectancy of 55. And that is including the WR's, DB's, Safeties.

You think it's cool that there guys can move around a little at over 300 pounds? Fine, but if they don't do something they will die.

The average NFL player does not have a life expectancy of 55.

Are you saying baseball players are not athletes? I think you are totally wrong.

Are you a doctor to worry about fat people or are you just trolling? This is about

the O's.

Have to agree with the fact that SB quality, rather than quantity, is what's important for us, considering we are a power-based offense. We can try to steal when it is significantly strategically advantageous to do so, but the the less runners we get picked off base, the better. With our lineup, any base runner is a potential run at any time, regardless of which base they're standing on.

As a baseball player, I take offense to this. Baseball is absolutely an athletic thing. Fat people can get away with playing it sometimes because they can hit the ball a mile. It's why fat guys are usually stuck DHing or playing first. Look at Jacoby Ellsbury. Coco Crisp. David Lough. Heck even a guy like Matt Wieters. Athletes.

Or third, maybe pitching.

This article is almost equally as laughable too though. They round up a relatively small sample size of about 3500 players and don't indicate how many of those players were overweight linemen vs kickers, safeties, wideouts etc.... the latter should be in much better shape to live longer.

People remember the ones who die young and for reasons because of playing football.

But, there are plenty of older NFLers around.

Heck Rosey Grier, 81, just made the media limelight.
