It appears that just because they are wearing the same uniform that Ted Williams wore 60 years ago, the Red Sox expect to get the same strike zone that he got.

Actually, I am opposed to superstar players getting an extra cushion from the officials in any sport.

I loved Earl Strom (the late N.B.A. referee), who NEVER was afraid to defy the home crowd and/or the superstar player that expected a foul call because somebody looked at them the wrong way.

But since the Red Sox are complaining more than Little Leaguers about almost every strike call, I couldn't resist the barb, even though it doesn't correspond with my general philosophy.
