But last nights offense was great. Not sure what happened to that approach.

Different pitcher. Probably harder to see the ball out of the hand. Our guys are not good against deceptive pitchers. We hit mistakes and sit dead red. Against most pitchers in the ML that's a safe bet. The few who have masterful deception and crafty breaking and off-speed pitches are able to shut us down.

Justin Verlander would get hit hard by us, but not Freddie Garcia. Heck, our own O'Day could probably go 8 IP on 50 pitches against our lineup.

(T.J. McFarland)

3 shutout innings out of the bullpen.

1 hit, 0 walks, and 26 of his 37 pitches were strikes.

Kept the Orioles in the game after Gausman struggled early.

Also, Jimenez will be on 4 days' rest tomorrow, and if he doesn't pitch tomorrow, he will be on 5 days' rest on Friday. So, McFarland's work tonight also helped bridge the gap so that our other long reliever (Jimenez) will now be available should another Oriole starter struggle early on in the next few games.
