I'd be all for that, as soon as Parades is ready to take over there.

Platoon Snider/Young at DH

Lough/Pearce in LF.

De Aza in RF.

I posed this in another thread. What are your thoughts on trading Chen? Could we get more in return than the pick? My guess is he is our most valuable trade chip.

Just spitballing here:

Keep Chen until/unless we are out of the playoffs.

Put together a package of Norris then add 2 outfielders (Snider/De Aza) maybe Lough

But try to trade 3 players and get an everyday corner outfielder.

I doubt a combination of those 3 players is going to get you a corner outfielder.

In case you hadn't seen this, I figured it is fun speculation at the least:

Jim Johnson is on there too, LOL.

He's making $1.6 million this year, probably not including incentives. If he puts together a good first half, why wouldn't a team at the deadline be interested in a cheap, veteran reliever with playoff experience that probably isn't going to cost you much in terms of prospects?

As much as I love Hot Stove talk I refuse to talk about us being sellers in any way. Flaherty/Schoop and MW coming back will really help solidify the everyday lineup. We just need 2 players to emerge from the pack and take over the corner OF spots. I could see us adding a SP,OF and reliever around the deadline if we are buyers. Maybe a blockbuster with Oakland for Kazmir, Redick/Zobrist, and Clippard. But that's a heck of a lot and Beane basically tanked the season to get prospects for these guys.

I think it's too early to give up on/trade Davis, unless we could get something for him that would really help. I would like to see Parades at !B, and believe he'll be fine there. But rushing that process and putting Parades there in a pennant race runs the risk, IMO, of jeopardizing the value we now have in Parades.

I'd like to try to keep Chen after this season, unless we have confidence about finding another lefty for the rotation. There's value to having LH starters, especially when playing the Yankees.
