The Fielding Bible awards were announced today, with no Orioles winning. Nolan Arenado of the Rockies was selected for 3B. The voting used to be available online, but now you have to buy the Bill James handbook to see it.

My guess is Beltre wins it.

Manny can actually be better than he was this season, but as Palmer pointed out after one of his errors he looks like he's trying to be too flashy instead of just making the play. I couldn't disagree with him at the time.

I don't either. However, I think the sabermetric stats overstate the extent to which the Orioles' defense slipped this year. I thought the team played solid D, just not as good as the prior two years.

Manny had a tough go of it, early in the season.

The Orioles finished 2nd behind the Dodgers, and 1st in the AL.

So it was better than it seamed, I guess we got spoiled for the couple of previous seasons.

I think that is relevant information when someone is complaining about pro-Yankee/Red Sox bias.
