o

Adam Jones started playing for the Orioles in the losing years, in 2008.

Like his mentor and friend Melvin Mora, Jones has ALWAYS played with a fierce competitiveness, no matter how good or bad the team was. He had the same spirited attitude when he was playing for the 2008, 2009, and 2010 teams as he had when he was playing for the 2012 and 2014 teams. Mora HATED losing to the Yankees, and similarly, Jones HATES when reporters ask him about the Yankees ...... "I play or the Orioles!", Jones replies when pushed. "So don't keep asking me about the Yankees!"

He's still in his prime at only 30 years-old, and he already has well over 1,000 career hits, almost 200 career home runs, 4 Gold Glove Awards, and a place secured for himself in the Orioles Hall-of-Fame someday.

Congratulations on your latest award, Adam. If you retired tomorrow, you would have already given me plenty of thrills and pride that one player can give me in my Orioles fandom.

That is spectacular. No kidding, my kid and I were listening to Pickin' Boogers on the way to his soccer game a week ago. The Biz is something else.
