Yes, he can be a cheap option. That's different from being a good option.

I was one of Brian's biggest supporters, and I still defend him when people jump on him every time he allows a run. But let's face it, he simply isn't comfortable against RHB. I'm not sure what happened to him after the 2010 season, but he has never looked the same since.

He did look really good that year. I really, really thought he was going to be like a Dave McNally type. Oh well.

The cheaper option is good in the warehouse.

well as per the usual, I disagree with the masses. I think Matusz is a good option for the rotation. I think it has been ridiculous how everyone jumps on him every time he allows anything, as if he were Sandy Koufax refusing to perform at Sandy Koufax levels. The guy is a starter who has been converted to a relief role. Obviously he would have to change his pitch selection back to starter mode, but I may be one of very few that thinks he can do it.

I don't jump on him for every little thing that goes wrong but he obviously doesn't feel comfortable attacking right handed hitters.

Why is anybody even considering this move? Vance Worley is a better option!

I agree of the in house options it goes Worley, Wilson, Matusz, Wright. And then probably last place. Matusz always gets "starts" in SP to just get innings and stretched out. But we need another quality SP. It's will be nice knowing that Worley can spot start. Or that Matusz could long relieve against a team loaded with LH's. Depth is good. Putting them into the rotation would be terrible.
