Markakis was a minus 6 defensive runs saved in 2015 and Trumbo minus 4.

Trumbo may be a better first baseman than Markakis is a right fielder. But then again we're not sure how good Nick would be if given 365 games at first base.

How much better defensively is Reimold over Trumbo? Probably not much if any.

It seems like the O's are going to wait at least a few weeks and see what they think about Kim, Reimold, etc., before pulling the trigger. The plus side to a guy like Bruce is that he's actively working out over in Reds camp, so if you decided to acquire him late in ST, it's not a particularly big deal.

It has been impacted by the shift, yes. The last three years he's hit about .150 or .160 on ground balls, prior to then he hit about .220-.230 on grounders.

But that is tantamount to not being affected much? I mean, surely Bruce's decline is not due to the shift alone right? Nor was Davis in 14.

Not sure. A quick glance at his splits shows a massive fall-off when not pulling the ball starting in 2014.
