At least Kim got one hit. Probably should have had a walk and robbed of one up the middle. Rickard had two good ABs today as well. Hopefully, it's enough to keep them both in the lineup tomorrow against Clevinger.

If my aunt had ba ........ just kidding. :D

If we could wind up getting 2 long-term solutions from one solitary loss, then this game might well have been worth it.

A) Jimenez out of the rotation.

B) Alvarez never again at 3rd base

So in that sense, this could be looked at as a "productive" loss.

Plus, more short term, Francona is using his bullpen.

Yes. You can get one every time the other team ties the game. Happens all the time in those extra inning games where a team scores in the top of extras then the home team ties it right in the bottom.

No, one pitcher cannot get multiple blown saves in one game. A team can, but not a player.

Save situation is based on the game situation when a pitcher comes in. Once Kimberly blew the save in the 8th, he could not blow another save in the 9th. If he had pitched a 1-2-3 9th after Boston had scored in the top of the 9th, he would have gotten a win, not a save. So he wasn't given a BS for the 9th...he got one for the 8th and that is it.

At least Manny didn't get hurt there. Ubaldo needs a trip to the DL to get his mechanics right and make a couple rehab starts. He's lost.

So we let ubaldo do whatever he wants with his windup to start the year. But meanwhile take Bundy's cutter away. That's smart.
