Brach vs Oday

Assuming Oday returns in full health,

Is it time to place Brach ahead of Oday on the depth chart?

Not necessarily if it gets to the seventh and the tough lefties are 4,5 outs away, I bring in O'day and have Brach for the eighth. If the tough lefties are coming up, I go with Brach.

I also try to extend Brach now. He could close in the future.

I like having O'Day between Brach and Britton. Lot's of hitters say that it's harder to adjust when you see consecutive pitchers with different arm slots, velocity and pitch selections. Brach speeds guys up, O'Day slows them down, Britton speeds them back up.

I don't see what difference who pitches the eight and who pitches the seventh. I would just keep ODay in the eighth if it matters to the pitchers. He is the one with the long term contract.

It shouldn't be Brach vs O'Day. It doesn't matter who's ahead of who. They are the gap from the 7th inning to Britton.

O'Day comes in when the fire needs to be put out no matter the inning. Otherwise he pitches the 8th.

Depends on matchups. If O'Day is healthy, I trust him against any RH hitter in MLB regardless of the situation.
