Good one but joking aside we need LHP in bullpen in worst way. I've also had it with Givens. Time to see if Drake is the real deal or not.

Last night was ugly and he has had a pretty bad month. That said, the first move is likely Duensing to DL which would allow us to keep Drake. Up until last night I did not have a big problem with Givens so I would be willing to give him a bit more time, but hopefully in lower leverage and with a tighter leash. It's not like Duensing has been any better.

Duensing has to be DL'd because we need a reliever tonight. At best Ubaldo is only going 5. Bullpen is going to have to cover at least 4 IP.

The guy is a real team first player.

Maybe he didn't have other options, we'll never know, but he's done everything the Orioles have asked him too (except hit a ton) so he deserves some credit for being willing to go back down and stay an Oriole.

Agreed. A stand up guy. Makes me wonder how many guys his age can still make a career of basically being a defensive specialist. I really admire him and have been pulling for him.

Pretty sure it is also based off the higher BA, OBP, Slugg, OPS, and OPS+ that I mentioned.

Or do you also not support those stats when they favor a player you don't care for?

Does Reimold have a higher Slugg, OPS, and OPS+ than Alvarez?

Nice! He gets to play before his fam in Arlington, go home for a break and do the right thing and come back for another shot. Good work by Buck! :clap3:

I would trade Tumbo+ for a starter. I would not be surprised if Nolan playing fulltime for the rest of the year would outproduce Trumbo for the rest of the year.

Trumbo has always been April/May heavy and this year is no different so far. Plug Alvarez in full time at DH and Nolan in full time in right.

What contender is dealing pitchers?

None. And sadly Trumbo is the kind of player that contenders trade for since he's only signed through the rest of 2016. So it looks like the only talent you'd get back is something like a minor league starter.

So, you'd have to look at contending teams that have anemic offenses that also have near major league ready starting pitchers that the team doesn't need this year.

Have to imagine that pool is small. And I just don't see Duquette trading Trumbo in any fashion this season unless they completely tank before the trade deadline.

Well, (A) I was thinking of the Mets, but I guess Loney will hold down 1B for them, (B) I did say Trumbo+, so for any/all those who could support trading MiL pieces, I'm suggesting swapping in Trumbo for some of them, and © SportsGuy could do it! He'd have a 3-way worked out with Tumbo+ to a contender, that team sending something to a 3rd (out of contention) team, and the 3rd team sending us a salary dump quality starter.

Alas, I am not SportGuy and I have no such suggestions up my sleeve.
