(vs. BLUE JAYS, 4/15)

I think that Hart pitched well today, and has been pitching well overall in this still very-young season.

He did give up the RBI-single of an inherited runner, but the Orioles had two chances to avert that. On the previous play, Jonathan Schoop had the Blue Jays' runner dead to rights on a potential double play after a long fly ball to the outfielder, but Schoop instead chose to eat the ball. And on the RBI-single, the throw to home plate had the runner beat, but Castillo couldn't hold onto the ball.

Overall he has 0 Walks, 6 Strikeoutsand he appears to be up for the challenge of getting multiple outs in his individual outings (as opposed to being just a LOOGY.)

Hart entered tonight's game with a 5-run lead in the 7th inning.

He faced 3 batters, got 2 outs, and ceded one single.

And he threw a grand total of 8 pitches in the process ........ 7 of them for strikes.

He did just what you're supposed to do late in a game with a big lead ........ throw strikes, and don't give them any free passes. Make them earn anything that they get.

Donnie has not looked good, at all. He's failed to get righties and lefties out at a similar clip.

I'd hoped that, with what we saw last year and what we saw in Spring Training, we had a very solid LOOGY on our hands. Right now... not so much.
