Lewis Black Orioles rant

Lewis Black does a live rant after every show and streams it live on his FB page.  He was in Baltimore tonight so someone asked him about the Orioles...Lewis is a fan and he went off on the Red Sox, the Yankees then talked about every winter the Orioles spending 47 pop bottles that they get their deposit back on starting pitching.  Someone asked him what he would do if Manny signs with the Yankees and he said he would be at every game in a dog costume and run out on the field and bite him in the leg.

Hilarious.

Since Carlin died, he is my favorite angry comedian.  He does this improv rant every night at 10 on his FB page...check it out.   His IPad that he reads from malfunctioned and so he was ranting against Apple, Comcast, etc...funny stuff.

I tried tuning in, but the link to his live stream was over. Maybe it'll be archived and re-posted there soon. Thanks for the heads up.

Many years ago I saw him live on a taping of Jon Stewart. I bummed a cigarette off him on the way out (lol) and was able to chat with him for 10 min or so, real great guy that is just so refreshingly authentic.

Seen him live, always great.

Seeing Jim Jeffries in a couple weeks, love that guy too.

I saw him dining at a Carrboro NC sushi place about five years ago. Not sure if he was in town for a performance or was just visiting friends. He went to UNC if I recall correctly. I didn't want to go over to see him as I know folks value their privacy. But I did see some wait staff having their photo made with him.

    • Funny thing is, if the O's win, I'm generally so psyched on my way out that I don't even notice all of these annoyances. I'm just happy that the team won. That was my experience a lot this year when the team was doing well. Unfortunately about half of my 13 game season ticket plan was in August and September, plus I got to watch one of the pathetic WC games. You can smooth over a fair bit of fan annoyance with winning, but at the end of the day, someone has to care about the little things and actually invest money to make them better. There's no longer any question about whether the O's will be here to stay. The government and the team are aligned: OPACY and the Orioles are here, and we're going to make the best of what we have, and make it a centerpiece of Baltimore. That's great. But now they have to put their money where their mouths are. Show fans from all walks of life that we are able to reimagine OPACY and the surrounding area in the image of an efficient, clean, 21st century facility, starting with things as basic as infrastructure and plumbing, and ranging as far as parking, public trans, and food at the park. Honestly? I sort-of understood why they weren't investing in anything in the years when (1) the team was bad, and (2) ownership wasn't invested in the team, and (3) the renewal of the lease with the Maryland Stadium Authority was in doubt. The vast majority of points (1), (2) and (3) above are now non-issues, or have been majorly mitigated in the past 2 years. So it's time to make things right. Otherwise why bother with the long-term commitment at all, if you're just going to let the project languish?

    • I still think Soto (Juan, not any of the others) checks off all the boxes here.  Insanely productive, plays hard, can rub opponents the wrong way on the field but is generally liked off of it.
    • We're not a mid-market team. Small market for sure.
    • Things looking bleak for KC. They left 11 runners on base, got a taste of their own medicine, I guess.
