    • Yes. Hellickson will help the ailing rotation and didn't cost much.

    • No. Acquiring a pending FA starter makes no sense and wasn't worth the cost.

I'm guessing this was more about freeing up a roster spot for Flash, and eventually Santander, rather than adding any real value to the starting rotation. Ubaldo gets moved to long reliever, and a couple of the short guys out of the pen spend time on the Norfolk shuttle. 

 

Not a lot of talent lost, not a lot gained. It's a meh deal for now.

I voted yes.

I think that the move is the first of a busy weekend for DD.

The orioles did not give up very much for a guy whom will either be flipped for a prospect or two or who will take pressure off of Bundy and the bullpen if he stays in the rotation for the balance of the season.
