Dolphins Pick Up Earl Morrall

Coach Don Shula of the Miami Dolphins says that in picking up Baltimore's Earl Morrall on waivers, he acquired "An intelligent quarterback who's won a lot of ballgames for me."

The 37 year-old understudy to Johnny Unitas was acquired from the Colts for the $100 waiver price Tuesday. He will join George Mira, Jim Del Gaizo, and rookie Craig Curry in the struggle to win the back-up job to the Dolphins' Bob Griese.
