They have played 106 games. Should be 56 remaining, although with rainouts it could end up being one or two less. Tough to lose 75 percent of your games and that would be 14 wins. I think 13 to 19 is pretty safe.

At a .302 win clip, that is 17 wins.  But with all the players they lost, I feel like the probably win about 10 more games.

Their incompetence has been truly staggering. As has the Orioles', but don't put anything past the Royals either when it comes to their ability to screw up.

No matter how many games the Royals will win the rest of the year - one thing is for sure, Ned Yost will have no idea how many they did win.

I think that the talent level is just one variable here.  An Orioles team made up of AAA guys trying to earn a job for 2019 might just play better baseball than the Royals.  Remember all the stretch runs in the 1998-2011 era where the established O's players couldn't wait to go play some golf?  And who could blame them?

At least they had the sense to not sign Eric Hosmer to an 8/144 deal.
