Just prior to that 3-run homer, Davis looked very confident at the plate.  He had a big lump of chewing tobacco in his cheek and that positive look in his eye.  I just felt he was going to do some noteworthy prior to his swing.

I thought that too until I noticed his blue eyes and then remembered Buck says blue-eyed players can't hit.

CD 2.0 Tuesday

0 for 3, 3 strikeouts

(0 for 6 with 6 strikeouts and a HBP this series)

CD 2.0 so far

5 games

2 for 18 (.111)

2 walks (1 intentional), 9 strikeouts, 1 sac fly, 1 hit by pitch

Onbase %:  .227

Slugging %:  .333

OPS:  .560  (STILL higher than 2018 CD version 1.0, believe it or not)

He has now struck out in 26 consecutive games, 11 short of Aaron Judge's major league record.   May 12 was the last time he played a game and didn't strike out.

CD 2.0 Wednesday

2 for 4, with a homer and a single and a strikeout

CD 2.0 so far

6 games

4 for 22 (.182)

2 walks (1 intentional), 11 strikeouts, 1 sac fly , 1 HBP, 2 HRs, 1 double

Onbase %:  .269

Slugging %:  .500

OPS:  .769

-- Davis has struck out in 27 straight games, 10 short of Aaron Judge's record

-- CD2.0's slugging percentage is actually higher than CD1.0's OPS was this year before the time off

Can't believe there is a pitcher/team still left in baseball that throws him an off speed pitch

Hits a HR on a really awful hanging slider

Just throw 90+ FB's down the middle and he will never get another hit but some team/pitchers apparently are slow to get the scouting report

Pitcher shook off catcher on two other pitches.   Fastball and then curve I believe.   If you aren't going to throw him a fastball a curve ball in the dirt will work.

You know actually especially for you younger fans it will be fun in 10 years to tell people you saw the worst player in the history of MLB

Bad history is still historical and worth bragging about some day.

And then.....

And then when I walked down the street people would've looked and they would've said there goes Roy Hobbs... I mean, Chris Davis, the best there ever was in this game.

Schoop may give him a run to the lowest BA.....   .199 , incredible

When I checked the box score during last night's game I saw 4 Orioles in the lineup under the Mendoza line.  Brutal.
