A glimmer of hope from the starters

I just hope that Means is decent, high 3's ERA.  Certainly if he is better that would be great.  I just don't want him to look like last year was a fluke.

To qualify for the ERA title this year a pitcher will need to throw 60 innings.  The difference between a 3.75 and a 4.50 in 60 innings is five runs.  Anything can happen, and it will probably be a fluke.

One of those guys could be a 3 inning reliever that you can use twice a week. Could start Stewart and if other team has a bunch of lefties in lineup go to Milone or vice versa.

If there's ever been a time to try 3 inning starters, this is the year to do it.

Other than Means, Stewart is the only guy young enough who may be able to help down the road. But that's still a big if.

Wojo, LeBlanc and Milone are stopgap pitchers until Kremer, Akin and Baumann are ready, which may happen this season.  There could be a Cobb trade in there as well.

Cobb needs to be able to throw a baseball more than 60 times and not develop a blister before he is a trade candidate.
