What a boring offseason!

Dunno, I've conditioned myself to be ready for boring offseasons for the Orioles for quite some time now.

Adding in the Covid mess and what it did to the season last year and how there's an uncertainty hangover for 2021, it's no wonder the offseason has been pretty lackluster so far.  That, and it seems like the past few offseasons have been trending to a point where FAs don't sign until January.  The action seemingly starts later and later each year.

We only NEED need a SS and a starting pitcher or two. On one year or 1 and an option contracts. On a team that is expected to have a losing season. Elias kind of needs to leave holes to have room to give a few prospects a chance.

I don't think the offseason is going good or bad, it's just as expected. Elias has said FAs are more likely than trades, and he's not going to spend much money, so of course we're waiting for the leftovers.

Unless they can entice a SS at that contract (before they're all gone...) You know Mike loves his D up the middle.

Plenty of time left but the job of Elias is to make the team better now and long term..he hasn’t done that this offseason.

But there are still a lot of guys out there and a lot of moves that can be made, so we can’t judge him yet.

I'd like to see a couple trades! Maybe even a coupe of the multiple team variety ;)

When was the last fun offseason in Baltimore? 1995-96?

That was a big one. I can’t think of one bigger since then. That offseason included new GM and Manager also.

I guess 03-04 is biggest one since then. Tejada, Lopez, Palmeiro plus new manager.

2004 we hired a new manager and brought in Miguel Tejada, Raffy Palmeiro, and Sammy Sosa.

Edit:  Note to self.   Read the rest of the thread first to see if someone else has made the point you are about to make.

Hah, I still do this all the time..

Yeah, that was a pretty big one as well. BTW, in a related note, I really enjoyed watching Tejada as an Oriole.
