These are not valid excuses in my opinion.  You need to pinch hit for him in that spot, period.  You have four bench players--use them.

If you use Wilkerson there, you can't PH Stewart for Valaika later because there's no one to play 2b.  If you use Hays, he's gone from the game in the 4th.  No way he was using Sisco.  He had no good options.   Who did you want him to use?  Stewart was really the only choice.

That may be what Hyde is thinking, but it's overthinking.  You have one out and the top of the order coming up.  You are planning to take your pitcher out anyway.  You have a one run lead and it's obvious that you need to score more runs.  Why let the pitcher hit, just to save Stewart or Hays for some later situation that may not ever arise?

Hyde is a pisspoor in-game manager. But I don't see him getting fired because Elias would have to admit he fucked up.

A trivially borderline decision at best.  One out no one on, using one of your 3 bullets might have given us a slightly better chance of scoring one run that inning  (4th) at the expanse of having that bullet left to fire later in the game.  If you think that is a huge managerial blunder, ok whateverm

What good does that do when you're down 8 runs by then?

So you agree with me, not using one of your very few pinch hitter a with no one on and one out in the 4th was the smart move by Hyde, save it for the higher leverage?

Score 7 runs early and still losing. I don't think I can watch these losers anymore.

This team is horrible.

Totally agree. Where do they get these pitchers? We constantly loose every year and you’d think we’d at least one special talent on this team. Second time we’ve blown a 5-0 lead in a week.
