Yes - for sure.  What I thought ironic was Hyde's statement just prior to Means' start.  He was asked if he would have pulled Means if he had gone 7 hitless, perfect innings on 80 pitches (like Kershaw).  He answered, Absofriggin luteley NOT.  Then Means has a booboo to his forearm and he pulls him.  I am not saying that he shouldn't have pulled him.  I'm just laughing at the false bravado.

Pretty sure there is a difference between a “boo-boo on his forearm” (that could be turning into something bad) vs. just being overly cautious 5 games into the season.

Or maybe he learned his lesson after the David Hess incident in Toronto…

Who has said Means will be back in 10 days?   I haven't seen any type of statement about the actual severity of the injury.

Starters, relievers, they are all interchangable.   Lakins is on the team now, if he only relieves, then we'll either bring someone else up to start Tuesday or else we'll go with someone currently in the pen (AWells, Baumann, Akin, or a piggyback of 2 guys).

Lakins was probably the freshest arm available.

I'm getting a little jumpy, but the next time the Orioles can't skip over Means turn in the rotation, I want the start to go to Bradish.

Lol Lakins are you kidding me?

Elias, if you're reading this...dude, get it together.  Time's up, no more excuses.

Elias doesn't need any more excuses. He's already given himself a pass on the Orioles' entire season.

It's as if he doesn't want to weaken the Tides or jeopardize the Orioles' MiL ranking. The Orioles have MLB's worst record and the Tides are a game and a half out of first, so everything's right on plan.

I think the Dodgers should have given Kershaw the choice if he wanted to try and finish a perfect game.  He's already had a Hall of Fame career.  99% sure Hyde would have pulled Means at 100 pitches if not 80, if it happened this time of year.

He was implying that, and they are.   He said that we all expected him to go on the IL, given the Orioles cautiousness.

I see nothing controversial about his statement.   I certainly expected him to go on the IL.

The implication was that another team might not DL him. I also don't know that the Orioles are more conservative than norm. That should be backed up. What Os have gone on the DL that didn't need to?

That's on you, 100% on you.  I'm not sure how you read what I wrote and came away with that.

And It's IL not DL.

The way they are babying their prospects, having them throw fewer pitches/innings than comparable guys on other teams, keeping Hall and Bradish behind for a week in Sarasota rather than having them go to their minor league teams, etc.
