The Mark Teixeira Watch part III

They just weren't meeting at the game. But if Intimidator is correct, they were possibly meeting or talking before the game.

Ok, I must have missed something then... I thought there was confirmation Angelos was watching the game from home - despite a report from a poster that thought they saw him in a car near the stadium...?

Peter Angelos is not here today. He's at home - perhaps watching the Ravens-Steelers game, or a good Lifetime movie. That part I can't confirm. But I know for sure that he's not at M&T Bank Stadium.

That was pretty emphatic.

Alright bud I'm gonna take a break from my research paper because this is getting ridiculous. No one is claiming that PGA was at the game. You win there. Intimidator told us that Tex and and PGA met at the Warehouse prior to the game, then Tex drove over, with the escort. Now, last time I checked, the Yard and M and T are pretty dang on close. So, Tex goes to the game, PGA goes HOME to watch the game. Heck, for all we know, PGA coulda been in the car until Tex got to to the game. Itsofacto everyone wins. Tex was at the game, under what we've been told, and Angelos was not a the game, under what we've been told, but they still could have met prior, based on waht we've been told. Sorry for taking out my frustration at my English Teacher on you!!! :D:rolleyes:

Ahhh! Now THAT was the missing link I did not catch. Thanks.

I thought people were still going on earlier stuff and connecting dots that had been disproved.

Actually in your defense it says that he left the ware house, not that they physically met. So that's speculation on mine, and many others, parts. But thats what this website is.. speculation, more than anything. I hope my hypothetical scenario just gives a possible explaination....

Well, still... that theory is possible, if unlikely. I can understand that one.

It had seemed before like people were still entertaining some sort of insane pseudo-conspiracy meeting at the game. That stuff was getting painful yesterday...

Apologies if someone put this up already, I didn't see it when I combed through the last few pages:

The courtship of Mark Teixeira is consuming a great deal of time and energy on Yawkey Way.

Should the Red Sox [team stats] eventually come out on top in the aggressive quest for the services of the gifted free agent first baseman, it will cost them an extraordinary, even historic, amount of money.

The Sox have made an offer, the biggest and longest yet for this current ownership group. The offer is believed to be for at least eight years, with ownership and baseball operations cognizant that Teixeira, 29, represents the safest bet they can make for at least this year and next to shore up the heart of an aging lineup.

Click here to find out more!

Indications are that many of the offers made at the winter meetings last week in Las Vegas - $18 million a year for eight years from the Washington Nationals, for example - were simply starting points for the annual average value Teixeira and his representatives are seeking.

I don't know what Silverman's source is. It could be the same MLBTR/Dan Patrick claptrap that was earlier debunked, but I don't think so. The Herald's baseball section has generally been pretty on. Silverman was the Herald reporter that nailed Epstein quitting 3 years ago when the Globe had him signed, sealed, and delivered that morning, they were the first to mention that Lester might have cancer, etc. So I guess what I am saying is it's probably a bad idea to dismiss this out of hand.

BOS: 8 yrs @144-176M

LAA: 8 yrs @ 160

WAS: 8 yrs @ 160M; also reported as 7 yrs @ 140M

NYY: Lurking... may not have the cash or desire

AAV:

BAL: 20-21.43

BOS: 18-22

LAA: 20

WAS: 20

EDIT: Silverman also mentiones WAS offering 18M per, but I dont know where he's getting that from...
