These infields in the upper levels are going to start to get crowded.  Norby could be due for an early season promotion as well but I'm not sure where he plays since Henderson, Ortiz, and Prieto (potentially) will already be there.  I suppose a four man rotation including the DH could come into play. 

At some point it will be time to purge the big league club of the Odors and Gutierrez's of the world so we can move some guys up from Triple A.  That could clear out some of the log jam if we start moving more of these advanced bats through the system. 

Yea, he has no business starting in high A at his age and with his pro experience.

He's 23 and until his last few games, had 0 walks and a .750 OPS.  It made perfect sense to get his feet wet in A+.   Not to mention, I'm sure he  has a lot going on with getting acclimated to a new culture and country.  Also, with Henderson, Ortiz, and Westburg starting at Bowie it made Aberdeen the logical starting spot for Prieto.

I disagree he had to get his feet wet in High A.  
 

I do agree that it potentially makes sense because of roster reasons although I think it was defensible to start Westburg at AAA.  
 

But I would like to see them moved now (or sometime soon).

Hit another homerun tonight...but Norby hit two! Those two are in a real race to be first IF promoted, but there is definitely a real logjam right now in the Orioles system

Prieto wins the first set tiebreak over Mayo, 7-6 in the Sally HR race.

Mayo has him beat at Swinging Strike rate though, something I wouldn't have guessed given their reputations.   Happily both of them are on the first page of the leaderboard, even if neither is John Rhodes.

I would consider skipping Prieto from Aberdeen to Norfolk .

There is a log jam of infielders in Bowie and not as if this guy has no prior pro experience.  If there is a player in our minor league system where that would be justifiable it’s him.

This really stinks because I was about to say how impressed I've been with Prieto. He's got much more pop than I was led to believe, has good at bats, has good hands in the field and enough arm to fill in at SS if needed but better at 2B. 

We just can't have nice things apparently.

Was at the game tonight. He's clearly way too advanced for A+. 

Shame about the injury. Hope he has a speedy recovery.
