I think it falls on roster construction a lot more than it does the coaches.

This must be what it's like to watch the Delmarva Shorebirds this year.  One or two guys who can hit surrounded by a bunch of guys who hit like pitchers.  It feels like it's mathematically impossible that this team could score a run.

This is what you get when your GM signs people like Chris Owings and Rougned Odor  instead of getting decent major league players to fill out your roster.   You almost wonder whether Elias specifically is looking for the worst possible players to sign.    And then when one of your real hitters goes on the DL, you call up AAAA guys like Bannon and McKenna instead of giving a chance to someone like Naughton who might actually be able to produce.

And leaves the top prospect in the game in AAA.

I just wanted to step in and say Bravo to Mr Elias. Somehow he's managed to take over the worst team in baseball and make them even worse. That's hard to do.
