Were you watching last night?  At least three times Odor made plays that Vavra likely would have struggled to make. He’s out there for a reason and made me a believer in why last night.

I still don’t love it but it is what it is.

I'm assuming you saw him play quite a bit at Norfolk? Or are you getting this from other posters, etc. It's a honest question, I never more than a couple innings of him at Norfolk on MiLB.tv. I just struggle to believe he is that brutal in the field, Odor ain't exactly metal glove material.

Looking at the bench, we're really talking about Odor vs Phillips when it comes to righties. Until they bring up Stowers or Henderson, they probably don't see a reason to make that change as long as they have determined that Odor is better than Vavra at 2B defensively.

Vavra is in the lineup so.   So Odor isn't playing over him.   And based on everything we have seen and heard, it seems reasonable that Odor is a better defensive 2Bman than Vavra.

So if you move Vavra to 2nd and bench Odor, which bench guy would you want to insert in the lineup in place of Odor?   Phillips, Nevin, Chirinos, or McKenna?    Would that bench guy be better enough with the bat than Odor to overcome a bit of defensive dropoff at 2B?
