Hang on just a little bit longer....

I can’t share the optimism, but I applaud those of you clinging to slim hope. Something happened to this team in the past two weeks. They just look deflated since about the time Gunnar booted the balls at 2B, not to bash him. Just tough timing there.

The Jays look about like they should have all along. That is a talented group over there, and they are built for a playoff run. We’re just not built that way, honestly. Our starters have been doing good things, but they have been exposed. The pen is over-worked. Ced, Adley and Santander just aren’t enough offense.

Yeah, I don't see much of a path to the wild card now but honestly I'd rather bow out now than to re-live 1989 and getting eliminated by Toronto again in the final series. I still haven't got over blowing both the Friday and Saturday games in the eighth inning back then.

Well, I'll agree to disagree.

I think our chances are on life support.  I mean, anything can happen but even when we were hot we still had a hard time gaining ground on the Jays and Rays.

I really want to see the last few weeks here be more about playing the younger guys every day and getting to .500 on the season.

The Jays and Rays have 9 more games against each other (including a 5-game series in Toronto beginning tonight). There's a chance that one of those teams could beat up on the other, which could get us back into contention. It's a long shot, but not impossible.

The Jays are really the only team we could catch imo because of the tiebreaker.  We will have it vs the Jays because we can’t catch them them with at the very least split the 6 remaining games.  We probably have to go 4-2 vs them and hope Rays beat up on them in there 9 games.  We need to be rooting for Rays to take like 6 of those 9.

Bo Bichette not helping our chances.  2 run homer in 8th to give Jays 3-2 lead.  He might single handily eliminate us.  Guy is on fire.

After being beaned in the head his previous at bat.

There was a lot of jawing between the Rays coaches and Jays coaches from dugout to dugout apparently, too.

And Romano made the lead stand up in the 9th.

I guess the Jays & Rays rivalry will be as strong as the Jays & O's rivalry between now & the end of the season.
