Didn't want grandpa Hill.   Not even sure I want Eovaldi but I'm receptive to a one-year contract for Eovaldi which looks like the final outcome.

Looks like Elias wants to farm system to percolate for one more year.   I'm still surprised by the Frazier signing and expected a trade but I think the signing of a pitcher might be the final move.

Agreed. I think one of Eovaldi and Wacha completes the team. It would give us a solid 5 man rotation and make the bullpen that much better. I think this is how we avoid some regression from the pitching staff,

Eovaldi, GR, Gibson, Bradish, Kremer

Bautista, Perez, Wells, Tate, Givens, Baker, Voth, Akin

That’s a heck of a bullpen.

Feels to me like we're ambling toward Westburg plus 1-2 for Trevor Rogers.

I don't know how reasonable it is to think that the pitching staff as a whole will be 92% right-handed.

Something regarding the pitching staff must be on deck. 12/13 guys being right-handed doesn't seem like good strategy to me.

Meh.  See if Eovaldi will take something in the neighborhood of 2 years 30, go up to 35M if necessary, and lets move forward.

I just don't love Eovaldi, especially with the pick attached.  Wacha or some similar vet for a year might still happen but I, too, think we're watching prospects another year before taking major steps in FA/Trade.

Akin and Perez are LH. Means is LH and will be back around June. Hall is LH as well.

Well last year we didn’t sign pick #83 and it didn’t blow the draft. We’d only surrender the #63 pick this year. And we have the #100 pick as an extra kick for not signing our #83 last year. All things considered with draft philosophy… I don’t think the pick is a deal breaker.

It's not a deal breaker but if it's not a player you love the pick looks a little more important.  I think Elias would've given up the pick if he could've signed someone he really liked.  I don't think that's Evo.  Said another way, if Evo didn't have a pick attached it might be easier to do a 1/15 or 2/28 kind of deal.  I guess we'll find out...
