9/9, 61 for me today.

Spoiler

Frank Robinson, Tommy John, Sandy Koufax

Gaylord Perry, AJ Pierzynski, Jeff Kent

Early Wynn, Lamarr Hoyt, Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown

I enjoyed including Brown, who garnered 0.3%

brutal puzzle today 6 of 9.  No hitter category always rough, then pair it with the Rockies and Mariners fill-ins...no thanks

Spoiler

flubbed it up thinking Mike Cameron played for Houston.  also Learned Nolan Jones was a 2nd round pick and Jose Fernandez never threw a No-hitter - was at least convinced he was super close.

I got my second lowest score ever today, an 8.

Spoiler

Bert Campaneris 0.8%, Dale Murphy 3%, Cesr Tovar 0.5%

Ty Wigginton 0.3%, Terry Pendleton 2%, Chico Salmon 0.08%

Al Bumbry 0.1%, Roberto Clemente 0.5%, Jorge Mateo 0.4%

It's kind of ridiculous that Bumbry has a lower percentage than Campaneris or Tovar.

I considered using Al Rosen for MVP 3B, but I was only about 85% sure he's won one.  He might have done better than Pendleton.

Good recipe for low scores today. I could only get down to 9/9 20, couldn't think of any good low rarity candidates for an MVP C.

I used a former Oriole for 3B MVP at 0.9. He was known as a SS and won his MVP for another team.

Overall score of 12, six former Orioles.

a little disappointed in myself I couldn't get the Phillies/Orioles under 1%

I had my third straight 9/9 today.  For a peon like me, that's a good streak.   Total score 82.

Spoiler

Kevin Brown, Mike Mussina, Phil Rizzuto

Pedro Martinez, Rey Ordonez, Jose Reyes

Albert Pujols, Terry Pendleton, Joe Medwick

Pujols cost me 37 points, but looking at the list of the other Cardinals/Dodgers, I don't think I would have been able to come up with another answer.  Even that one took me a long time to conjure up.

7/9, 237.   Messed up on New York CFs that I thought had 100 runs but both topped out in the 90s.   Mickey Rivers and Mookie Wilson.  Four Orioles used.

Spoiler

Rick Dempsey 0.2%, Mike Mussina 2%, XXXXXXXXXXX

Eddie Murray 1%, Keith Hernandez 27%, XXXXXXXXXXX

Mike Morgan 0.2%, Jason Heyward 0.5%, Lou Brock 6%

Kind of surprised Keith Hernandez was that high.

    • People are being a bit ridiculous with the holier than thou takes criticizing a little humor. I am not saying what happened couldn’t cause a significant concussion, but it would be a bit of a fluke if it did. Mullins barely hit him with the bat and he had a helmet on. The fact that it was in the back of the head did make him more vulnerable, but this wasn’t the type of thing you see and think he was lucky to be alive.  Guys have probably hit their heads harder on the top of the dugout or on the fence making catches.  And note this comes from someone whose son has suffered severe concussions and who is well aware of the dangers associated with them. In short, people need to lighten up a bit on guys like Roy.  It was a little gallows humor.
    • Yeah, you read that wrong. LA2 is one of my favorite posters here and he knows it. No harm, no foul. If you aren't familiar with the game threads, it doesn't matter what the team is doing, people complain about it and people did make that same joke in the game thread long before Roy said it here. Game thread in summary - when the O's are not doing well, it's insufferable, when they are doing well, it's mildly less insufferable. There, that wasn't hard. I'd appreciate it if you didn't assume I'm throwing shade at people. I'll leave that up to you to do, you're really good at it.
    • Comp a. Like Gunnar, and beavers…
    • Wasn't Westburg a 2nd round draft pick?  It's a little early to judge last year's draft.
    • Before Elias.  They generally haven’t missed on a 1st round or 1st round comp pick with the position players.   I trust they’ll make a good decision at #22 and #32.   Their track record in rounds 2-4, particularly on college position players and specifically the last three drafts is suspect.
    • Anyone want to guess what it would take to get Crochet from the White Sox?  We could send SG over to ask politely and remind them of what they missed out on Ortiz.  I'm sure that wouldn't stir up a hornet's nest.
