Cowser may be a consequence of the pennant race.  Prospects have to perform under pressure against the best.  Even if this weren't a pennant race be tough to keep CC in the majors. He is epically bad right now, performing like you would expect a Single A player called up to the show prematurely.  Stowers would be better at this point.

I posted a few times that he looks overmatched and he still does. He is constantly late on even low 90s fastballs. He simply is guessing on pitches and not reading the pitches.

They didn't give Kyle Stowers anywhere near the amount of rope and opportunities that Cowser is getting, and Stowers actually hit some game winning home runs last season as well as a game saving catch against the Rangers at the beginning of this season.
