As a guy born in 1982, Adam Jones is my second favorite Oriole behind Cal.  (Mussina would have been #1 until he went to NY.)

Adam Jones gave everything he had to his team and his city.  He was a fun player to watch but more importantly, in my opinion, he was a fantastic leader.

I was also born in 1982.  Impossible not to have Jones considered for my top five if we are just counting players I've actually watched, although Markakis and Roberts are in the same conversation.  Cal, Brady, Mussina, Manny.  It's not a long list.

I don't see anyone mentioning Palmeiro.  Performance alone should get him some consideration, but I suppose he's tarnished by the steroids.

Palmeiro 1.0 shouldn't be tarnished by Palmeiro 2.0.

He was simply awesome.

Jones is 13th all time in WAR as an Oriole position player although this isn’t just Os since 1954..some of these are also DrungOs.

DrungOs - outstanding!     Like Palmer's broadcasting, John McGraw's managing chips in a little.     I want to see if Mike Elias manages assets one day to where something like Billy Cook makes his major league debut at an older age than John McGraw was when he was managing the Orioles.

:)

He's 9th among modern MLB Orioles, sandwiched between Brady and Frank.

If you add in the AA/NL Orioles he moves down two spots behind Jennings and McGraw, and is just ahead of Joe Kelley.

Oh, I was just making a joke.

I'm always amused by the "say what you will about so and so, but he's actually great."

If he's so great, why are so many people eager to say what they will?

Adam Jones wasn't a perfect player, and surely isn't a perfect man, but at his retirement ceremony I'm sure nobody is eager to bring up any of his faults.

I guess you took me on my word.

It's disappointing that we won't be able to watch the ceremony on MASN.

They just streamed a press conference with Adam and Elias on Orioles.com.  I only saw a minute of it, then the sound went out so I stopped.  But perhaps they will stream the ceremony as well.
