Elias: Os looking for a top half of the rotation starter and closer

Every team has basically come out and said they are looking for pitching. Seems like the market is comparable to the trade deadline.

I guess it is better that he said this as opposed to not saying it.  But that is about it for impact.

I think a trade gets done for a solid/above average bullpen arm. Throw in another "Kyle Gibson" type, and that's a wrap.

Maybe they trade for Cease though..he has that potential.

I think he feels a certain amount of self-pressure to back up his statement of getting a #1-#3 type pitcher after not being able to accomplish it last year.  He’ll become the boy who cried wolf.   This year he’s got the extra chips via trade and the team is in a better position to trade.   If he doesn’t get the pitcher he’s going to look more and more foolish and I’m sure he’s aware of that.   We, hopefully, should find out which he prefers to use.  Lots of money or less money and prospects.

Bradish, Means, Grayson, Quintana, Kremer. Irvin with the occasional spot start at Home. 

Kimbrel, Cano, Webb, Baumann

Coloumbe, Perez, Hall, Irvin

Looks good to me.

ME knows or has a pretty good idea what the market is and where it is going-whether he chooses to participate or can is another issue.

We won't be operating in the top end of the free agent market. We don't have to wring hands about it all off-season. Just accept the reality and move on.

Bradish and Grayson can be a really good 1-2. Both have Ace stuff.

Are Stroman, Gray, and ERod in the top end?   That’s where I think he’s shopping if he goes FA.

Gray I think will be top end. I have some hope we stay in the mix for ERod but I really think it's going to be more the Lorenzen type.
