You could say "take away the best and second best guy" about any bullpen.  Coulombe was good last season and Cionel and Webb weren't bad.  The guy we miss is DL Hall, though I'm sure the hope is that Wells, Suarez and/or Irvin will fill some of these holes.

In some situations, you trade the potential to score multiple runs for a much higher percentage chance of scoring at least one run.  This would feel like a situation that one could argue that this was that spot.

That being said, you actually have to execute the sacrifice.
