Is Hyde/Sigbot burying another prospect?

Also, I have a hunch Kjerstad plays tomorrow. Might not be enough to satisfy the tough crowd here but Santander looks like he needs a day off and the RHP should be a good matchup for Kjerstad.

With the day game coming on Thursday, you would think he plays in one of the 2 games.

I think the roster composition right now is the Club honestly trying to make it the sharpest they can for a big series, and that includes Kjerstad over the field to be that Mateo, Urias or McCann pinch hitter in a big spot.

Current decisions are Urias/Mateo are better than Holiliday, and Kjerstad is better than Stowers/McKenna today.

Cowser, Santander, Mountcastle and O'Hearn are Mount Rushmore v. RHP.

Yeah, I guess you could say Kjerstad is the contemporary version of Terry Crowley for this team.

@Tony-OH After thinking about this, I bet we probably see Kjerstad start to get rotated in during the Reds and Nats upcoming serieses. Unless we need his roster spot, but McKenna has no role right now other than needing to clear waivers to go to AAA.

I’d really like to see big Heston hit a bomb in that ballpark in Cinncy.

Isn't OPACY Kjerstad-friendly? I am expecting to see him some but more due to Santander and Mullins looking like poo lately.

The Reds are starting 2 lefties this weekend. Not happening.

Back-to-back posts. Impressive.

Perhaps you missed "haven't seen one person suggest that it makes every single final decision on anything."

I've always said I thought Hyde runs whatever the computer spits out as his lineup barring sickness or injury that need to be taken into consideration. That doesn't mean I think SIGBOT makes all the decisions during the game or roster moves, trades, etc.

Kjerstad’s problem is that he’s the worst defensive OF on the roster, and the O’s value defense quite highly.   That leaves DH as his most likely spot, but O’Hearn and Rutschman have that covered most of the time, and you really can’t argue with the team’s .847 OPS at DH.  Like everyone else, I’d like to see Kjerstad getting more opportunities, but if he spends 2-3 weeks riding the pines in the big leagues, it’s not the end of the world.  If it was a couple of months, it would concern me.

I’d think you could give Adley a day off tomorrow and let Kjerstad DH.

I agree, Adley has been red hot vs LHP but is in a funk vs RHP. RHP would be a prime opportunity to give Adley a full rest day.

We face a lefty tomorrow.  If we’re facing a righty, sitting Adley (who would be replaced by McCann) doesn’t open up a spot for Kjerstad.

I was thinking about today vs RHP. But yeah, I guess McCann would wash out Adley's spot. So yeah, I'm back to resting Santander today and Mullins tomorrow.
