Obviously Hyde and the FO are playing the long game. Winning now is nice but there are no MUST win games in June. What we DO need are Burnes, Bradish and Grayson ready in October.
What am I missing here? I'm coming up from Atlanta and am making the trip up to see the Birds at OPACY for the first time since the 90s. I'm specifically seeing the games Thursday and Friday and was interested to see who would be the mound for the O's. According to ESPN Suarez is pitching tomorrow followed by Povich. Bradish will then go Thursday with Grayson Friday. What happened to Cole Irvin? He has pitched well. Why is he not pitching in the Povich slot? Or will they push Bradish and everyone back to go to a 6 man rotation? I'm just surprised to not see Irvin scheduled to start again. Did he piss someone off? :<0
Irvin nearly 6 innings, 2 earned runs 0 walks, 6 strikeouts.
Bradish one cheap infield hit, 6 innings O runs 0 walks 9 strikeout
Grayson Rodrigues perfect thru 5, 2 hits, 2 runs 6 strikeouts
Corbin Burnes 7 innings 5 hits O earned runs 1 walk 6 K's
in this pitch count era, all of the starters pitched pretty efficiently never seemed to be in serious trouble the whole series. There were some tense moments, but all the pitching held up and just about everyone pitched well.
The best pitching performance in a long series this season. I realise the Rays are not exactly murderers row.....but that was impressive pitching.
We are getting a lot of time to savor Jacob deGrom ending last year with precisely half the career innings pitched total of Clayton Kershaw.
I dare the baseball gods to keep it in sync not by 0-0. It isn't out of the range of outcomes deGrom could throw 4 and Kershaw 8 or something like that.
