Probably felt fine after tests. Then regressed. Concussions aren’t linear. They did the right thing.

Yeah. I had a concussion that left me in bad shape for 3 months and impacted me for more than 3 years.  The science on how to best approach recovery is a bit of a mess ranging from "dark room don't move" to "push until you can't stand up.". And it is psychologically a hell of a trial if you go longer than a month without real improvement.

Hoping for the best for Heston, but we've seen with guys like Roberts that these can have lingering effects.  One of the last things to come back for me physically was the ability to process fast dynamic movement - think driving in traffic on a highway or, you know, picking up spin on a 90+ pitch.  Quick decision-making can also be impaired and all of this is tough on a person's confidence.  

I always look back at Carson Wentz of the Eagles as a guy who had all the hallmarks of a lingering traumatic brain injury.  If nothing else, if this persists, I'm hoping the team connects him with other peers who have gone through this as well.  It's an isolating ride for a while.

Fingers crossed. Him getting beaned right when he was starting to really show his stuff is the most disappointing thing about this season for me. Not sure who has to go down for him to make the playoff roster. Interesting choices to come.

Well we won’t have as many pitchers, so that’s one potential move.

At this point, I’m only concerned about 2025 and beyond for Kjerstad.  If his symptoms don’t hinder the rest of his career or affect his health outside of baseball long term, that’s a win.   I’ll be pretty surprised if he returns to the major league roster this year.

How many guys can we possibly have coming back the last 2-3 weeks of the season? Playoff roster could be completely different from what we are seeing right now, or maybe not.
