Unfortunately I have plans with friends tonight and won’t see Coby’s debut, or at least, the first 6-7 innings or so.   I hope he performs well enough where @Roy Firestonecan say “see, I’ve been telling you!”

Me too... taking the kiddos to the AQUARIUM!!!!!!!!! I may have to watch a little here & there haha.

Tony, I don’t think the first group looks like the second group.  I’m pretty sure the Elias would put Mayo in that first group.  I sure hope so.

We shall see. Kjerstad, Cowser and Westburg had pretty good credentials when they were brought up and had a hard time finding regular a bats when they first arrived. I do think Mayo should be a cut above them, but we will see. If Mayo gets a start and gets two hits, does he get benched the next day like Kjerstad did?

Hopefully not, but again, we shall see.

My cousin suggested Mayo run in the hotdog race as himself.

Obviously it'll never happen, but hilarious.

Except NOBODY puts mayo on hot dogs.   At least nobody I know.

McCann tried to get out of the way of the 95 mph fastball like any sane human would do.   Most ML fielders would not have tried to take that ball off their chest.

95mph from 55' is very different than 103mph from 110'.

I have to say, Holliday and Mayo returning and debuting within 2 games of each other, and within just a couple games of the trade deadline, is a pretty wild scenario that I did NOT see coming. Even factoring in the Westburg injury, that's a LOT of big news since Tuesday afternoon.  Never boring!

Agreed. Gunnar hit ground ball Wednesday 109 off the bat and looked like a routine ground ball.

Yea, it was a bad play and really sunk the ship last night.  Between that one and the ball in the first inning that went over his glove by an inch Elias much have been thinking, "well, darn, Mayo would have at least gotten 1 of those 2.  Make the call"  lol

I might start doing that. How bad could it possible be?!?!

A quick google search shows a lot of discussions on the issue.   People are split on the subject.   Stephen A. Smith has even weighed in on Instagram.

It was 109 off the bat, but it hit the ground about 3 feet in front of him, and bounced its way to the fielder. The announcers were shocked it was listed at 109 and laughed about it.
