I think that is what was implied and that is how I would rank them. Holliday and Mayo both just need to cross the 130 AB, or 45 days on the MLB roster, for them to lose eligibility. 

In the offeason, it will like be Basallo #1, then a battle for #2 spot between Honeycutt and EBJ. Maybe Estrada gets in the discussion if he blows up at Aberdeen.

The delay is that he didn’t sign until July 30.   He’s in Sarasota.

Looks like Tony was correct.

MLB Pipeline placed him 4th on our prospect list.

UNC Baseball: Vance Honeycutt debuts in MLB Pipeline's Orioles' top 30 prospects list (keepingitheel.com)

As far as when will we see him in game action?   this is something i've been curious about as well.   Using Bradfield as an example from '23.

Bradfield was drafted on July 9th.   Signed on July 17th.  (wow, quick turnaround).   And he saw his first action in the FCL on August 4th.

Honeycutt was drafted on July 14th.   Signed on August 1st.    So if Bradfield started playing in games 18 games after being signed.............. that means Honeycutt should start by approximately ........... today.   heh.   Hopefully this doesn't get dragged out much further.

EBJ's last game at Vandy was on June 3rd and he made his debut on August 4.  Honeycutt's last game was on June 18th, so that again would align with him playing any day now.

I've gotta say, the lower the draft pick, the less interested I am about their debut.  

That's not to say I'm not happy about VH...I am.  But not really pining about his debut date and first impressions and how he looks in whatever small sample size the rest of the season holds.  Way more interested in the ML club...this is what we've been waiting for.

Obviously the ML club is what matters most.  But Honeycutt is a more intriguing player than anyone else we have drafted since Holliday in '22, so I think it makes sense that there are a few of us that are excited to see his debut.

Honeycutt is going to have a lot of eyes on his debut because he has the potential to zoom up top prospect lists if it looks like the Orioles have answers to his hit tool question. He won’t be able to play much before the end of the year, but the early returns in even a small sample could go a long way in indicating in how he’ll develop going forward.

      Just hoping we get Westy, Kjerstad, Mounty, Urias back on the roster soon for Soto/Rivera/Jimenez/Maton. Such a huge upgrade is possibly soon.       Kimbrel has a club option too, should be the two easiest decisions. But I am sure they will make it complicated

      I was not saying this will happen, or predicting this to happen. It is very much not likely to happen as you pointed out- and we agree on that. But just because they haven't gone 4-14 so far this year, doesnt mean its not a possibility. In the last 18, for example, they are 8-10 as you have pointed out. Of those 8 wins, 5 of them came against three of the worst teams in baseball- Rockies/White Sox/Rays (5-4). We dont have teams like that left on the schedule. Do we get to 8 wins out of 18 without playing half of the games against three of the worst teams in baseball? Maybe, maybe not. Another 2 of the wins came in the Astros series which took a heroic grand slam, and an unlikely pinch hit 3 run double from Holliday. Both of those hits came on the backs of Astros defensive miscues, and both of those hits came in games that we were otherwise lifeless/hapless like we have been for the majority of the last 70+ games. We were very fortunate to come away with two wins during that series.  Again, I am not saying that we are going to go 4-14 to finish the season, and crazily enough 4-14 could still be enough to get into the playoffs even if it DID happen. If we went 4-14, the Red Sox/Mariners would have to go 14-4 over that same stretch to pass us, or the TIgers would have to go 13-5 (if they take the tie breaker). Its just something that seemed impossible 3 days ago, and now it may end up being something to monitor.

      This team needs the obvious jolt and the timing for the injured cavalry coming back is hopefully soon but time is short and we need wins.   I have to think Kimbrel at this point is viewed as "washed" by his teammates and just adds to this negative karma that exists even when they see him in the dugout and not even pitching.   Time for addition by subtraction now for both him and Smith.  We are at the point of definition of insanity territory by hanging onto both.

      My hot take is that we are at adjustment time.  The Orioles figured out an approach that was working.  They weren’t walking as much but were putting up a ton of runs.  Other teams adjusted to the approach.  The question now is whether the Orioles can adjust back.  So far, not so good.
