Look at all of those wasted resources.

MacPhail needs to go to the learning annex and take some courses on not wasting resources. How to streamline a company and most importantly, the importance of the green movement.

Really, you don't want to temper that position? All AM does is talk? Really?

I dunno, I think SG has been chomping at the bit for awhile to go after MacPhail. This might be what allows him to go after MacPhail with both barrels blasting ;)

No I don't...I am freaking sick and tired of his empty talk.

The team blows and he needs to do something about it...He had an awful offseason and now the team is barely better than the 88 team.

I don't want to hear the normal AM bs, stay the course talk.

I want results...Nothing he says means a damn thing at this point.

He always says good things...who cares about what he says...I care about what he does.

I kinda agree with you here, man. I see where you're coming from.

However, I think you know that deep down....none of what you're railing for here is gonna happen. Might as well try to throw jello through a brick wall.

I don't care about this offseason because there was nothing that could be done. I mean nothing that was out there excited me then, or is it now with their subpar avg's, HR, RBI, SLG, OPS, OBP and on and on. They all (Figgins, Bay, Beltre, etc, etc) look like they should be on the Orioles with the way they're playing.

Where's Troutville, VA? I'm in Great Falls.

Misery loves company. Let's get hammered together and enjoy the fallout.

Only a 216 mile drive, my friend, according to mapquest. Man, Virginia has gotten way out of hand with its lame-O geographical reach.

A toast to you, regardless, Moose. If you're ever in Roanoke for...uh...some sort of Advance Auto Parts seminar or a nature hike or something...look me up. I'll totally buy us some brews.

OK, but you realize that what you wrote here is completely different than saying "all he ever does is talk".

He "does" lots of things. Heck, he "does" lots good things.

Bedard trade, Tejada trade, Sherrill trade, Pie trade, Matusz draft, extra money for late picks last season ....

Just this season, they brought up Hughes when Atkins wasn't hitting, sent down JJ, etc... They haven't done enough IMO but they've clearly been doing stuff.

I could go on for awhile. Lack of activity is not the problem. Lack of intelligent decisions aren't the problem.

I realize that you're frustrated. I agree. I'm frustrated too. I'd just caution you not start throwing out nonsensical statements like "AM does nothing but talk" rather than discussing the real issues - hitting, DT's inability to lift the pall that hangs over the team, the poor choice for 1B, etc... You're too smart for that. Don't fall into the Trea trap where you harp on everything real or imagined.... It undercuts the valid stuff you post after awhile. My 2 cents.

I am glad that he has been able to build the proper foundation...but at this point, we are not close to contending...Right now, he is talking...nothing but talk.

I don't care what he says...We know what he is going to say....It doesn;t freaking matter...its worthless chatter.

Its enough to make the fans like Rshack bow down to him more and enough to appease certain parts of the fan base that things will be ok.

Who the hell cares?

DO SOMETHING!

Get off your freaking a$$ and get stuff done.

I am so f'ing tired of hearing the same apologists year after year...the same damn people sayng things will be fine, blah blah blah.

JUST IMPROVE THE GD TEAM!

It is PATHETIC where this team is and AM is a part of that problem..So, stop your damn talking and start doing things to improve the team...Either that or freakin resign and get someone else in here.

Of course, I can't watch it.

Stupid firewall.

In a nutshell

- We had problems with the bullpen at first. We think that's better now.

- Our hitting is bad. We need more from 1B, DH, LF and CF. If need be, we'll make changes internally. Later in the season we can look outside of the organization.

- Our starting pitching has been better this year, but it could be better

- We need our position players to get out of their slumps so we can be the team we think they can be.

- Thanks for supporting us during this difficult time.

    • Good point, no other metropolitan area has more than one team.
    • Could it be that they allowed the Gnats to reside within 30 minutes of their home. Effectively cutting their market in half?
    • Got my all-time low rarity score on today's game - 6.
    • 41 freaking years and here's this guy with the name pickles telling me I should be happy with 91 wins and getting owned in the playoffs again. 😂 😂 I saw a team that looked terrible the second half and probably didn't even deserve that spot the way they were playing .
    • Lol. Here's the funny they know more then you know. Typical Oriole fan who's happy with getting punched in the mouth.
    • I don’t like the wall. I think it’s affecting our hitters. I’ve mentioned before that I think it has totally warped Mountcastle into something he was never really meant to be. The guy came up as a pull-heavy HR hitter, and in his first season-plus (725 PAs), he puts up 38 HRs and a 116 wRC+. Since then, the wRC+ is down to 110, and his approach has totally changed, with his pull numbers plummeting (down from 39% in 2021 to less than 28% this year). He still hits the ball hard, but constantly underachieves his batted ball data — probably because he’s trying to avoid the pull field and hitting balls to the deepest parts of pretty much every other park. Will the same thing happen to Mayo? Maybe he has more pure power, but it’s always going to be a challenge for a RH slugger to survive with that wall. So much harder to do damage.   Beyond that, I think it’s also creating a serious risk of changing our LH hitters’ approaches too. These guys (Henderson, Holliday, Cowser, 2/3 of Adley) have come up with a reputation for being able to drive the ball to all fields. But how long does that continue when they just can’t hit it out to the opposite field? Our LH hitters had a combined 44 wRC+ at OPACY, and only one HR. They had the 3rd most balls hit to LF at home by LHHs, but the lowest wRC+ of any team on those balls (for the second straight year). The Royals, ironically enough, were the only team that was lower than a 70 wRC+ — that’s how much worse our lefties fared going oppo (at OPACY) than everyone else’s. By player: Gunnar Henderson: 112 wRC+ / .160 ISO (51 PAs) Adley Rutschman: 10 wRC+ / .026 ISO (38 PAs) Anthony Santander: 14 wRC+ / .095 ISO (43 PAs) Colton Cowser: 58 wRC+ / .057 ISO (36 PAs) Ryan O’Hearn: 47 wRC+ / .091 ISO (55 PAs) Cedric Mullins: 23 wRC+ / .100 ISO (41 PAs) Jackson Holliday: -72 wRC+ / .000 ISO (16 PAs)   On the road, they had a combined 126 wRC+ (with 9 HRs) going to left field, so it’s not like they’re bad at it. It’s just Death Valley out there in LF for them at OPACY.  How long will it be until these LH guys just start going full pull-happy? Essentially, the opposite of what’s happened with Mountcastle. When (a) your team’s philosophy is to focus on doing damage and (b) you can’t DO damage to the opposite field — the rational endpoint is just to try to pull everything. I don’t think that’s a good outcome. I think it makes them much worse hitters in the other 81 games, and I think it’s a terrible waste of a bunch of really talented hitters with all-field abilities.
